What is a DAM system?
A Digital Asset Management (DAM) system is a system for the structured management of digital content. Unlike an image database, whose primary objective is to manage images, the DAM system is capable of handling digital content of all kinds. This includes images, graphics, videos, documents, PDFs and music files.
Fields of application of DAM systems
A Digital Asset Management system can be used wherever digital assets are worked with and content (data) is archived.
Examples of areas where Digital Asset mangagement systems are used include:
