System Administrator (f/m/d)

Programmfabrik GmbH, based in the heart of Berlin, provides the web-based software solutions easydb and fylr. Our software is a flexible repository for media and their related, relationally structured metadata. As a Digital Asset Management system, it is used in libraries, research, teaching, and public relations.

On rented servers and customer servers we access remotely, we use Docker, Debian, Apache, OpenSearch, and PostgreSQL.

To support the maintenance of our customers’ servers and our own infrastructure, we are looking for reliable assistance.

Your tasks:

As a system administrator, you will work closely with both developers and project management, maintaining the systems of Programmfabrik and our customers.

Requirements:

You are at home in Linux administration, distinguished by reliability, proactive communication, and a strong sense of responsibility, and you bring the following qualifications:

• At least a started degree in an IT-related field or a comparable qualification
• Excellent command-line knowledge of Debian and Ubuntu Linux systems
• Familiarity with SSH, web servers, network administration, and NFS
• Initial experience with git, Docker, and SQL
• A plus: knowledge of shell or Python scripting, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, Kubernetes, and Ansible
• Self-motivation and a high standard for the quality of your own work
• You consider documentation a natural part of teamwork
