Successful Art Historian Day in Mainz

This year's Art Historians' Day in Mainz was dedicated to the discussion about the value of art. The discrepancy between the economic and cultural-historical value of art was discussed in numerous contributions and discussions and the need for a rethink was discussed. The congress was very well attended and, against the backdrop of the recent scandals, showed current relevance.

Counterfeits, looted art, Museum sales and, last but not least, technical innovations represent challenges that the topic must be considered. This results in new tasks and requirements for science and the economic market. The conference proceedings contain a summary of the contributions.

We are very pleased to have been represented at this year's conference and would like to thank you for the stimulating presentations and interesting discussions. The scope of developments on the art market has once again shown us how important interdisciplinary and cross-industry discussion is. We are looking forward to further discussions and are already looking forward to the upcoming congress of art historians.
