Conference: Green Museum - How to practice what we preach? - 2016, Berlin
From June 19 - 26, 2016, Museum für Naturkunde, Botanischer Garten and Botanical Museum Berlin will organize the 31st Annual Meeting for the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC). The international society pursues the mission of improving the preservation, conservation, and accessibility of natural history collections.
The conference will be held under the motto "Green Museum - How to practice what we preach? In view of climate change and the ever decreasing biodiversity, sustainability is the essential criterion that should be reflected in all planning and decision-making processes. In practice, however, this claim is often also a challenge, as the actors often have to deal with sometimes conflicting demands. The conference serves as a forum to address and discuss the challenges and to discuss how the requirements and solutions can be reconciled.
The conference contributions will be published in a conference volume. The conference proceedings are available to conference participants at registration and will subsequently also be published online.
