First-class training materials

The slide library of the Institute for Art History and Aesthetics is available to teachers and students at the Berlin University of the Arts for teaching and research purposes. As one of the largest art universities in Europe, the Berlin University of the Arts educates students in more than 40 artistic, artistic-scientific, and artistic-pedagogical degree programs. First-class working materials are a fundamental requirement. When it became apparent that the existing database could not be continued, a future-proof solution was sought. It was important that the institute could also connect with other universities and that the exchange formats were compatible.

easydb.university is standard at art science institutes

After evaluating various providers, the decision was made in favor of easydb. In addition to the fact that easydb is already in use at many universities, an easy-to-understand input form and straightforward data management were important factors. These include both high-resolution image views and an easy-to-use function for downloading image datasets, including metadata.

Today, 17 faculty members work with easydb, and students benefit from the careful maintenance of the database. The group editor is a particularly popular feature in daily work. This allows multiple images to be processed in a single step. Sources of error are minimized and working time is saved.
