Coins and lettering AI for EVA Berlin Conference 2023

November 29th – December 1st, 2023 | 27th Berlin EVA Conference

EVA-Berlin – innovation meets tradition

Innovative technology trends determine the focus of the Berlin EVA Conference 2023. Developments such as machine learning, AI, blockchain, XReality and NFTs are the focus of consideration. The extent to which these technologies influence and change the cultural scene, the creative industry and artistic processes is examined. Modern technology brings artistic components to life, visual art transforms into impressive narratives, and traditional art finds its way into immersive gaming environments.

Digitalization in the cultural sector

Thanks to such technologies, transformative opportunities arise for cultural institutions. New ways to communicate with search and reach a larger audience are opened. Personalized and versatile interaction solutions expand access and enable cultural experiences to those people who were previously excluded from such offerings. Technology has also found its place in documentation, conservation and artistic reprocessing.

Challenges and opportunities

Nevertheless, it is clear that the “digital work of art” also brings with it challenges. The interaction between people, technology and art objects changes traditional bonds and relationships, leading to discussions about authenticity and credibility. The Berlin Technology Symposium 2023 offers a platform for exchange on these and other exciting topics.

This is a special event for Programmfabrik easydb : fylr . In addition, some of our customers provide insights into practical solutions based on our technology .

Lecture on the topic: Artificial intelligence in museums – developing collections using AI

  • On November 30, 2023 at 6:30 p.m
  • Presented by Frank Dührkohp (GBV network headquarters), Lars Mischak (Dataport AöR) and Sebastian Klarmann ( Programmfabrik )

The “Artificial Intelligence in Museums (KIM)” project was initiated to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate the extent to which artificial intelligence can be used to generate metadata in museums. Well-recorded coin collections from museums were chosen as training objects because digitization is already very advanced here and there is therefore sufficient data to train the AI successfully. The demo application “Recoinnaissance” finds the most similar existing coins to new digital copies and, on this basis, provides suggestions for metadata for the new digital copy, so that indexing during the inventory of museum objects can be carried out more efficiently and automatically in the future.
