easydb / fylr community: promoting dialogue and development in the scientific field
We would like to point out an exciting initiative: The easydb / fylr community, an independent network that has been formed in German-speaking countries. The easydb / fylr community is a network for users in German-speaking countries who use our software easydb and fylr in scientific and research projects. It offers the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and aims to further advance the development of our software from the perspective of its users.
The main goal of this community is to promote fylr and easydb Topic areas include use in research and teaching, the optimization of data models and the joint development of new functions and plugins. The network strives to bring common needs and suggestions into software development and to combine the results in new plugin developments.
As a Programmfabrik , we support such independent initiatives and are pleased about the commitment and innovations that emerge from this community.
Review and outlook: Successful first meeting of the easydb / fylr community and planning of further events
The easydb / fylr community has already held a successful virtual meeting on February 2, 2023. This first network meeting focused on building an active user community in the GLAM&UR 1 sectors (Galleries, Libraries, Archive , Museum , Universities, Research Institutes). It offered participants a platform for exchanging ideas on topics such as the use of the software in research and teaching, data models and further developments of the software, especially in the area of plugin development.
The main purpose of the meeting was to introduce and network the community members, their projects and their easydb instances. It was also an opportunity for the participants to exchange ideas directly with representatives of the Programmfabrik and gain insights into the current developments of the software.
Due to the positive Feed and lively interest, another virtual community meeting is planned. This is intended to further promote ongoing dialogue and collaboration within the easydb / fylr community. Details of this upcoming meeting will be announced through the usual community communication channels.
